Lidl Sat finder query

    Hi,

Maybe someone can throw some light on this one.

If I buy the lidl system on Thursday is it necessary/advisable to also buy the satfinder which is being sold seperately (for 11.99) on the same day ?

On the Lidl leaflet it seems that the system comes with its own sat finder anyway. Is the one being sold seperately a superior model? A comparison of the picturesof the satfinders suggests they are not identical.

Unless you paying 1000s (Or 400 at least) there is little difference between sat finders.

The satfinder that comes with the kit is very basic. The sensitivity cannot be adjusted so you just get a high pitched tone to listen to. The seperate one has and adjustable sensitivity and led display. May be better for exact positioning for weaker channels.

    Yes that would be better.
But if youo can see the signal level /quality on the receiver info screen, this is best to fine tune dish and LNB angle on. Especially Quality once the satellite is found.

Neither "finder" tells you WHICH satellite you have and an 80cm will pick up over 20 loactions. Only one has the BBC/ITV
    :)

I have one quistion, will the sat finder pick up any transponder of all satellites ie any signal or as I though only the transponder that you rx was tuned to.

    Best regards, Tomk.

How many people have the dish within viewing distance of their tv though[you need a mate to help]? I assume the lidl offer is a digital offer so you must remember that digital signals take a second of two to register on screen so any adjustment you make, you need to give it a moment or two before moving the dish again.

Cheap sat finders dont look for a particular transponder, only signal...hence the difficulty to a novice. Satellite positions like 19e and 28e create lots of signal so they are easy to find.

A video sender and LCD tv?

I use a very old video monitor + video sender in the past.
