    I like it.

    The toning works quite well!

My only problem is the other side of the bridge, I wish there was something there...or maybe if it were burnt out?

Like the composition. The sky is too burnt out for my likeing tho' A bit of work and it will be a very good shot. Try a pure B & W jobbie ;)

I enjoy the photo books I have ,I'm sure the CS book will be invaluable.
I haven't a clue about PS ,the layout means nothing to me.

    Cheers,
    Brian.

I like the angle to it a lot, were you using a very wide-angle lens?

the frame top right is a bit un-evan, like you were touching up the sky and accidently hit the black that needs fixing and the sky needs something too i dunno what.
These shots with lines textures and tones are a challenge overall it's pretty good tho

I like the effect, especially the sepia-ish toning, and the mysterious figures at the white van under the bridge makes me think that it's a shot of a robbery getaway or something!

My only nitpick is the blown out clouds. Can you bring back some of the detail if you have the RAW file?

Thanks for the comments ,to be honest I did some cloning of rubbish ,doing the council's job if you please ,I paint filled the border to get it black and it ate into my photo ,so the marks around the edges are me cloning the marks out.
I didn't want to waste time on petty little marks ,I think for me at the moment just get the stuff out and see what people think ,could spend hours on something and realize I was having a flashback

I used USM for the grain ,tone & temp ,saturation for the B&W .

Just to add ,I'll defo work on the clouds ,how can I work on the clouds alone without the rest of the image???

Here's one of those video tutorials I was telling you about, that shows you how to blend two exposures together in order to keep highlight detail (provided it isn't lost completely in the first place) and treat the area separately from the rest.

We'll need to have a sit down with photoshop together soon because I'm pretty sure you have a lot of good stuff hiding on your drive, waiting to be mistakenly deleted ;)
