My mother is six months recovered from disc replacement surgery, she also had stenosis. She went for her six month checkup today and the x-ray showed more damage to the discs above the ones which were replaced, she is being sent for a bone scan(not sure if it's a DEXA or what it is), what are the possible conditions that…

The discs she had replaced are fine but she is still in pain and the discs which weren't replaced are now under more strain than they were before.
