    Hi there,

am currently organising a shoot for October to be filmed in men's toilets in a club or pub, preferably a club since we'll be shooting during the day. We need a clean / bright place with mirrors and preferably a somewhat industrial look to the toilets (maybe steel sinks or that). Can anyone recommend any club toilets that have this look and are spacious? any info appreciated, thanks! :)

Try 4 Dame Lane, they are obliging and there is always someone in there even when they are closed.

Thanks a mill for those tips, will definitely try Q Bar, AKA and Dame lane. it's an ad for cold sore cream (ooh showbiz, not!!) and the script says it has to be in a gents. I initially thought of AKA too cos the ladies toilets there are quite cool, but not sure if they'd be big enough, we'll have to squeeze lights, equipment and a crew in there! and obviously it would have to be somewhere that's closed during the day as we'd be taking up their toilets...we wouldn't want some poor bloke wandering in with his fly open while we're working!

cheers, other ideas appreciated too, but i'll get on to those in the meantime! :)
especially any particularly 'industrial/greenish' style toilets (says the camera man!)

Em, don't try AKA, that poster was just trying to waste your time. They are quite possibly the darkest toilets in Dublin.

Edit: A good place might be one of the hotels such as the Conrad or the Fitzwilliam. Their toilets are pretty bright and spacious.

Another idea might be the toilets in bus aras, there big and sort of industrial looking (metal grating and toilets). only thing is finding a time when its not busy.

Er don't use a club? Loud noisy and expensive. Plus crampt. Try and get something similar to a gents and then light/dress it...

Well it's relatively low budget and we need urinals in some shots, plus we'll be shooting during the day so i would only use a closed club / pub for sound purposes. in terms of being cramped, i'm hoping to use a large gents so that's why Q bar sounded good. I'll be calling them tomorrow, so i shall report back...as i'm sure you're all biting your nails with anticipation about how this story ends! ;)
other suggestions welcome in the meantime!

i suggest you put me in the ad.
as an out of work actor, i could do with the job.

other than that, have you thought about other places than clubs?
many offices might have what you are looking for. none i know of, but i'm sure someone here might have an idea.
one toilet is the same as another and you can't tell if it's a club or not.

also, does the ad go something like this:
guy* walks into club. has a big ugly cold sore. he hides in toilet. someone gives him cold sore cream.
then you see him the following week and he's back at the club and all smiles because the cold sore cream has worked and he can show his face again.
    that's it, isn't it?

replace masculine for feminine as required.
