    Hi guys,

sorry if this has been asked before, but I recently got a Sky HD box. Is it possbile to add BBC HD to the 'Other Channels' ?

    thanks,

Yes but you will find it is very limited (and can't be recorded on ROI card). It is really a test service and shows the same shows over and over it seems. No real relationship to program content of the other BBC channels.

I think this link will give you BBC HD listings which are hard to come by when they are not in the EPG.

    http://www.sky.com/portal/site/skycom/tvlistings

    its channel 145

Interesting site! I think it needs some work, though as some of the options don't give the correct channel list. For example, the third Northern Ireland option gives listings for BBC 1 London and ITV1 Central West!

I don't have, and don't intend to get, a Sky box. Can you get a HD FTA box to receive BBC HD? Where? How much?

The number of DVB-S2 MPEG4 receivers is still fairly limited. Those which have been confirmed to work with BBC HD are:

Humax HDCI2000 - the 'Premiere' badged PR-HD1000 also supports BBC HD.
    Pace DS810XE.
Homecast HS5100CI - there's a review of this on DrDish TV running for last 2 weeks on Hotbird.

The ReelBox is reputed to work, but I haven't confirmed this.

It is technically possible on a Skystar2 + ProgDVB and 3GHz+ PC with MPEG4 H10 codec support from 3rd party codec or X1800 ATI perhaps.

BBC HD may change to DVB-S2, then the Skystar2 won't work, only the boxes Zaphod mentioned.

The service is a trial ending in April 2007
