Anyone done a dogsledding holiday?

To celebrate a major milestone birthday coming up in January, I've decided I want to do something I've always wanted to do, namely go on a dogsledding adventure holiday. I've tracked down a few places on the Internet, most of them in Lappland, and they seem very well organised ... small groups of 4-5 plus 2 leaders, each group of two guests has their own dog team of 5 allocated to them, plenty of training given and then a 5 day tour staying in huts looking after your own dog team etc.

So, has anyone else done something like this and could give me some pointers or experiences?

never done it mate, but thought I would post as I was in lapland for a different type of event in July, my host was telling me that on average its -30 in the winter but it can drop to -50. However her daughter was mad into dogsledding and she reconked it was quite fun. Best of luck with it.

Thanks for that ... on the websites I've looked at they've said that temps of -35 are common at that time of year (mid January). They have a very long list of clothing that they require you to bring with you, plus they'll supply anything you don't have / can't get like fur lined boots and the like.

What's the price range for this Alun?

For a 7-day trip which is effectively 5 days actually sledding, it's about €2,000 per person excluding flights, so not cheap at all.
