HDip..eligible for grant?

    Hi lads,
I'm starting the Dip tomorrow (feck!) and got a letter Friday from UCC looking for the first have of my fees which will apparently cost me €2395. I'm 25 and lived in Dublin from Sept '05 to Jan '06, and Donegal from March '06 to June '06. Since then I've been living in Cork city (not with my parents but not exactly officially on a lease anywhere either.) Do ye think have I any chance whatsoever of being eligible for a grant? And even if I am have I left it too late? If there's anyone out there who's recently applied for one and might have any info I'd really appreciate it.
    Thanks.

I'm also doing the Hdip. I haven't done a masters. I heard that you get one post grad for free. Is this true?

Not true, you have to pay for the PGDE. And bloody expensive it is too

providing that you qualify to receive a grant, you can receive one while doing the HDip. however, if you have already completed a postgrad degree, they will not view the undertaking of an additional postgrad degree as "progression in your education", and therefore you wont qualify.

its worthwhile applying anyway cause you never know!
