Im half thinking about getting a printer that prints on to dvds etc (epson r220 ) but havent seen what the actual results are like when you print on to good printable dvd's, so just wondering does anyone know where to find examples of what they look like or is it worth the bother at all. Any info would be great.

Definitely worth it vs sticky labels though I can only vouch for my printer a Canon Pixima IP5200, the quality is very good though of course it also depends on the source material (the quality of the image your printing to it).

Canon also ship their own little program for printing labels and it's a fairly seamless process. Though they do omit the "full face" DVD profile in the program so you need to input that which is outer size:118mm & inner size 17mm if you plan on printing those type discs.

The Canon IP 5000 prints just like the real thing, in fact it's like that trick magicians do with the three red cups and yellow ball.

I've an Epson R300 - prints CD/DVD media perfectly fine, even printing cheap 'n' cheerful media. It doesn't smudge, has good colour and quality, prints very accurately on the disc surface - isn't off-centre or anything.

I'd recommend it overall. It takes 6 ink cartridges, so can be expensive to run, but inkjet.ie are doing a special atm - €4.50 for a 'compatible' cartridge or €27 for a full set for the R300.
I've only had to use the black compatible, but so far, it's fine.

If the R200 is anything like the R300, I'd say for 80 quid you can't go too far wrong.

Too be honest I think you save money the more ink cartridges it has with individual colours as opposed to when you just have a black and a colour. In the latter situation when one of the three colours in the colour tank goes you have to pay for a full refil or a whole new cartridge. At least with alot of tanks you know you're getting what you're paying for and they're really empty when you hand them over and part with your cash.
