I have been asked to send a CV to a newspaper editor where there is the possibility of some work.

I wont be sending my work cv so what do I send instead as this is totally new to me??

I'd guess a regular cv and a portfolio

Whats wrong with your regular CV? Maybe a letter with a few portfolio shots if you dont want to send a CV.

Nothing wrong with my current standard CV but as its photography orientated I assumed (I know, shouldnt do it and all that) that I was to provide something more related to that.

It seems that I will need to make something up after all!!

    Appreciate the comments so far.

Standard CV accompanied with portfolio I'd imagine. If you're serious about it, get your shots mounted, and into a proper porfolio case.

Or get a bound book of your work...

It IS costly, but it shows you are serious.

In the first instance, its by email. However, I take on board about getting it printed/mounted for showing people.

For graphics I find the full size portfolio cases too bulky. So I use a sprial bound A4 pad which has clear sleeves. I only use cheap inkjet glossys, as these portfolios get chucked about and even lost.

If it's by email, I'd be getting some kind of presentation sorted.

Though, nothing beats an email saying that you'd like if you could meet them and they could have a look through your portfolio.

Presentation is everything. I mightn't have experience in working with papers, but applying with portfolios is something I've done a lot (And have always gotten accepted)
