My Plextor dvd drive has power and is recognized as a secondary slave while booting but is not accesible in windows. There is no reference to it at all when booted. Whats going on?

unplug the molex and ide cables, and plug them back in. One of them ( most likely ide ) could have come loose

I swapped the position of the plextor and the cd drive that works and now its the same. it still recognizes the other drive even when it is where the cd drive was?!

Are your jumper settings on the dvd and cd correct (DVD is master, CD is slave or whatever way you have it).
