    Right,

My cousin has a copy of Nintendogs Lab Edition. He is in the process of naming the dog but can't get passed it. He can name it fine but when it says "Keep calling him/her until he get's used to the sound of it" he keeps calling the dog for ages but it always says "He seems to have forgotten his name" This means he can't actually do anything like go out for walks or teach him tricks because he is trapped naming and naming and naming the stupid dog.

Please help as he is desperate to just play the game.

    Thanks,

    Timans

it takes ages for the dog to remember the name, just keep at it, and it will work eventually.

It should actually only take calling the name 3 times to get the dog to learn it. Make sure that every time they recognise their name you pet them as reward. And make sure the background noise is at a minimum or else the mic wont pick up what youre saying properly!!!

It does learn the name but when you then have to keep calling it for the dog to get used to it, It just keeps forgetting it.

Then could the name be too short or too long? Whats he calling it?

Or could it be getting it confused with other commands?

Get him to just have the dog playing in the room, and call it. It may look up and look away again. If it does, call it again. If it does come when he calls it, get him to pet the dog (always do this till you get the wee sparkley thing)

I have the exact same problem what did your cousin do to fix it?

Say it in the same tone every time. I had a girl ask me once how to fix it and she was saying it in a sing song voice at times and normally in others. Just make sure you say it the exact same way when you're training it.

It uses Voice Recognition so it is patten matching the way you say it each time so you have to be consistent in the way you say it.

Then you have to be consistent calling your dog from that point onwards. It will not work in a noisey environment either despite the commercial. Voice Recognition is extermely poor in general. Nintendo did a good job with it despite the poorness of the technology.
