    Critique please

the aim wasnt for 'normal' gig shots, I was to capture the stage as much as possible while focusing on the performer aswell, dunno if i pulled it off, i know i can crop to get some ok close ups and i know feet are missing left right and center but i couldn't help that

Reckon you did - those ones show off the stage and sets alongside the performer - so well done on that. What was the performance of anyway & how did you get the access ? Criticism wise there isnt much that I can think of - the 4th one could probably do with some foreground crop - otherwise I think the processing is spot on. They look like stills from a professional production.

was a gig in IFSC, thats all I can say, my job was to take some shots for the production/promoting company, nothing too fancy, I was working in another capacity there and they just asked last minute for shots as they 'apparently' have a very hard time finding photographers.

yeah i think your right on no. 4, tis a bit distracting alright

They are good shots, what lens was that? It's nice. I think if you managed to zoom in a bit more, I know you said you were going for the stage aswell, but I think some face shots would be good too.

Be happy with them, they are good.

I agree with what the lads above have said. The shots look professional and technically I can see nothing wrong with them.I think you have done a really good job and I would feel proud of them if I were you.

I have a few face shots but they ain't what they be after so i didn't put effort in, I used the bog standard 18-55 kit lens, I really think it gets more abuse than it deserves, used right it out does my 1.8 50mm and the bit of zoom makes all the difference at bigger gigs

Class shots, I agree with everyone else on number four - the performers look like they're getting bonked on the head with a giant pink dildo.

Hey nice shots, but just to warn before someone else does, you forgot a few things from the rules like C&C in the title and only hot linking 3 images (link to the rest). Great work though, keep it up

I saw ads around for someone called Liam Lawton a priest/singer. Is that who it is?

Good man jools, spot on. The only thing that surprises me then is how are all the rest of the people in the shots awake:eek:

they 'apparently' have a very hard time finding photographers.

they obviously haven't heard of the Internet or the golden pages so.

some good shots, a bit too much of the bottom of the stage in some shots but a simple crop should sort that out
