Thinking of Getting This...

Hi, thought I'd seek some opinions on a customised Komplett.ie system:

    Antec P180 Silver. Case.
    MSI P965 Motherboard.
    Intel Core 2 Duo Processor.
    Corsair 4* 1GB RAM. (4GB RAM)
    GeForce 256 MB Graphics.
320 GB Seagate Barracuda Hard Drive.
    DVD +- DVD Burner.

    No: OS/Mouse/Keyboard/Screen.

Total is about €1231, INCL Vat.

It'll mainly be for PHP, Photoshop CS2, possibly 3D, etc. etc.
    Thoughts?

What are the exact specs. Like which core 2 duo and which graphics card.

Did you check the specs on the Barracuda, they're not meant to be all that good, komplett had a 400gig samsung for €145 the last time I was looking.

The price seems a bit high for a medium spec machine, I suppose it'll mostly go on the processor -edit- Oh and the ram, is 4 gig needed?!

    Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86GHz Socket LGA775, 2MB, BOXED w/fan
POINT OF VIEW GeForce 7300GS 256MB DDR Turbo Cache, 550Mhz/405Mhz, PCI-Express

Oh, I thought Seagate Barracudas were very well spoken of, I could look at Western Digital or Samsung I suppose then.

As for 4 GIG maybe not, 2/3 would suffice, looking forward really, college you know. I was on a Dual Processor 3.2GHz P4, 1GB Ram, so I'd like to make quite a leap so upgrading soon isn't neccessry.

You could reduce the amount of ram you want to 2 gigs and make sure it is dual channel that is to sticks of ram

Looks good; personally, I'd go for an Antec P160 case (smaller) & make sure you get the OCZ PSU (only decent one I see there).
The MSI P965 NEO-F mobo is €20 cheaper & has Firewire but no optical audio -- your choice.
You are choosing the PC2-5300 and not the PC2-4200 RAM, right? :D
(and finally) X1600Pro for an extra €33 isn't a bad upgrade; consider it.
