Thinking of putting up my spare 80cm for 16E today? Is it going to be big enough?

There are a few channels, not much difference between 80cm and 110cm.

However 16E is mostly feeds. a larger dish may be an advantage for feeds.

    What about 12.5W?
New TV lots of films in English.
    MSNBC USA NTSC feed.

Or perhaps you have something partitcular in mind?

    Check www.lyngsat.com Europe Frequencies 16E

well feeds to be honest. Cricket is what I want to see. Fox sports show live english cricket and ashes coming up in november. Dont want to get in sky sports just for the cricket. most cricket feeds seem to use 16E. I had a look at Lyngsat, will take a look at 12.5W. Thanks for response.

would elevation for this bird (16e) be about 26 in galway? Can't get an accurate reading on lyngsat sat tracker?

    download free software from www.smw.se

note Longtitude -5 to -11 in Ireland as we are west. + is in mainland Europe

Here in Limerick the elevation for 16E according to the SMW sw is about 27 degrees.

Further north and/or west will make it lower so 26 is reasonable start.
Azimuth in Limerick is 153 degree approx (due South = 180, east = 90), 39,000 km away :)

found 16E straight away, elevation set at 26. very strong signal on most transponders except fox sports (Only about 18%). Today is sunny so a strong signal is to be expected. Will see what happen tonight in regards to signal. If nothing worth watching I might turn towards another satellite, E.G 7E?

I'm also trying without much luck to pick up some feeds on 16e with a 80cm motorised dish here in Dublin.

Would adjusting the elevation on the dish help and which is the best satellite for doing this - 5W?

    Thanks

Ive found lots of feeds. I'll pm you a url for a website that shows sll the frequencies for the feeds. There seems to be a few matches being shown at the moment on transponders.

    Thanks Snaps.

I've managed to find some frequencies for the feeds but I just can't seem to pick them up well.
I initially thought this was due to the dish size but maybe I'll have to tweak my dish alignment a little if you can pick them up with an 80cm.

ive found that you have to skew your lnb slightly to right for this bird. I get very strong signals on most transponders.

Fox Sports seem to have increased their signal today, Coming into Galway on a 80cm with 50%Quality.
