Try not get carried away with the hype of drivers. Unless you are able to hit a ball reasonably straight don't spend big bucks.

Golfworks lets you try out clubs in the shop (hitting into a net) so maybe give them a try. A mate of mine just bought a sasquash and he swears by it. But for that money i dont know.

you can try them out in the cellbridge driving range, there's a mcguirks there, try out the ones you're looking for then shop around for best price on the one you like best, thats what i did 3 years ago ended up with the cleveland launcher and haven't looked back.
so many options for you callaway X, Fusion, the new ben hogan is very cheap if you like it ( i think it's only 420 cc though).Sasquatch is also a very popular club and a nice one too, the titleist 905 i a good club, get a pro or someone to advise you on which one to get (although i think the R is the only one with a 460cc head, the T and S are both 400cc) and finally the Taylor Made R7 460, plus assorted variances on the R7 (massively popular club)

Was in similar position earlier this summer - and finally took a chance with a TaylorMade R5 (with some vouchers Id collected). Very happy with my purchase. My advice is if you're gonna spend some cash on a club ensure the shaft you settle on is top notch and suits your swing.

The Ping G5 is a fantastic driver - you'll hear reports about this is the best and driver because.........and.......oh.. get this etc etc, Nike, Titleist and so forth but my experience is I only started hitting them straight and long(ish) with the PING G5 - it's good value and really is as good as they say it is - you won't go wrong with it.:)

I also opted for the R5 last year, it cost me less than 200 euros. I think spending big money on a driver is a waste of money, invest in a decent set of irons first. That's what I would do! Ask yourself, which will I use more!

I bought a Beh Hogan CS-3 about 5 months ago and my driving is now straighter and more consistent. A friend of mine was impressed with how I hit the club so he asked to borrow it for a couple of rounds... He said it had added 40/50yrds to his best and poorest drives - which I put down as bullsh*t.....

But I played a round with him on Tuesday and he had bought his own Big Ben by then. He out drove me twice and hit it way straigher than I did - he was 40 yrds behind me any previous times we played.

Give the club a go - see what you think of it... It's pretty good value now in McGuirks at €150 and if you have a bit of a slice problem I'd go with the draw bias - it can be a positive help...

a good driver is a very good investment, a very important part of your game.

If your not driving long and in fairway, your making it harder to stick pins.

I'm currently using the taylormade r540, and have had good sucess from it, i tried a range of other clubs with the mizuno mx400 compositite being a very nice and cheap driver.

I think im gna go with the g5, averaging drives at 290-300 yards and keeping the ball under control and in the fairways, its a must buy really.

I'm not a fan of nike drivers, i find them much heavier then other makes and the ball flight is alot lower.

And for aony ereading i finally got a straight anwserr on the graf blue and aldia green shafts

Graffaloy blue launches the ball on a higher trajectory while the Aldia keeps the ball low, its not necceserilly a stiffer shaft, just they each give different amounts of kick down the bottom of the club.
