    Hi,

Friend moving into apartment in santry, apparently magnet are advertising that they have system there. I think it is ADSL 2 system for phone, internet & tv. Just wondering if anyone is using this magnet service and if so what do you think of it. Is it reliable? What happens if more than 1 tv needs to be connected?

I'm in the same boat. I'm currently deciding betweeen:

    Magnet - tv/bb/phone
    NTL - tv/bb/phone (over voip)
Sky Conway (oh god, please no).

Anyone any opinions on Magnet? Seems like good value, especially with 8mb bb.

Magnet uses the same cable (phone line) for all services so one will negatively impact the other. NTL use different channels so you can have multiple TVs and use the internet. NTL internet has been bold lately but normally I would say it and VOIP are the way to go. I have never used magnet but I often watch TV and surf the web / download things. I would hate one to interfer with the other.

Sky Conway - avoid like the plague.

Magnet shares the TV bandwidth with the BB, do if you are surfing and watching the TV at the same time, it will probably break up the TV image (depending on the quality of your line).

Also with Magnet, you can really only watch TV on one TV at a time, as there is no bandwidth for two streams.

NTL would normally be your best bet, they keep the BB and TV separate, so they don't effect one another. They have more TV channels and you can watch TV on multiple TV's, VCR's etc either through analogue or getting multiple digital boxes.

There are reviews here of their BB/TV/FONE ad they ain't GOOD a lot freezing etc on their TV package, i have their BB package of 100gb/4mb , and i get what it says , no problems full speed all the time, after reading the reviews for the full package i decided only to go with the BB package.....
