I've tried to build the best system within my budget of ~€1200.

    Case
    Gigabyte Triton - €72
    Motherboard
    Abit AB9 - €163
    CPU
    E6600 - €345
    RAM
    2GB GeIL DDR2 PC2-6400 Ultra CL4 (4-4-4-12) - €217.96
    GFX
    X1900XT - €336
    HD
    WD 250GB sata - €82
    PSU
    Enermax 500W - €65 (already bought)
    Cooler
    Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro - €24.99

    Grand total - €1305.96 + €25 for Komplett delivery.

So as you can see I'm a little bit over budget.
I'm not happy with the ram or the motherboard also the X1900XT is out of stock on komplett.

Anyone know where I can save around €75 quid, perhaps by buying some of the above on overclockers?

You could shave a bit off by getting the Gigabyte 965 board instead for €145, so that's a saving of €18.

You could get slightly cheaper RAM, the lower timings wont make that much of a difference this Mushkin 2GB kit (5-5-5-12) goes for €199 so that's another €18 saved.

There is a cheaper X1900XT 256MB edition coming out soon which could save you a few bucks more as well. If you hold out for that you should get back within your budget.

You could always downgrade the CPU to an e6300 (1.86Ghz, €190) or e6400 (2.13Ghz, €235) -- either should still hit 3Ghz no probs, and I honestly doubt you'll miss the "extra" 2mb L2 cache since you're getting an x1900xt ;)

Also consider getting PC-5300 RAM -- stuff from good overclockers (Patriot, Mushkin, GeiL) should easily hit 800mzh and above.

    A budgets a budgets a budget.

Can't break your budget, no sir.

    Well, maybe a bit.

Thanks for the advice, I was aware of those options except for the 256mb X1900XT. Don't think I'll wait for it though, want to order on Monday if possible. Can't wait to see 'BlackWizard's face when I pwn him savagely at the next lan.
