Dub, Culchie or Foreign Blood

Search is down for me, so my apoligies if I this has been done before.

I work with a girl who insists that she would have no problem kissing a Dub, Culchie or Foreigner on a night out, but when it comes down it, she would only consider actually going out with a country boy on a more long term basis- despite the fact that she herself is a Dub.

One of the lads here is very much in favour of the only going out with foreign girls, and another of the girls here says she would never go out with a foreigner, or a culchie, she would only consider a Dub as boyfriend material.

Now me, personally, I don't discriminate, mainly because I am an ugly bastard and I would be delighted if anyone would actually consider going out with me, I am an equal opportunities dater!!

    But what about you??

Do you have a preference? Have you actually ruled out there being any chance of you ever going out with someone from certain parts of the country/globe?

I am going to attach a pole to this, because I would be very interested to see the results. I can't believe that people would actually decide such things before giving a guy/girl a chance.

I would only ever date a girl/guy from 72 votes

I would (and have) dated a girl from anywhere in the world, as long as we clicked, and as long as I wasn't going to get a fatwah on my ass, for corrupting their women.

I too am an ugly bastard, and would have no problem dating pretty much anyone or anything from pretty much anywhere.

You know what they say, animal, vegetable or mineral.

In an ideal world, it would be the Swedish naked ladies snow volleyball team, but til that happens, I'm not picky.

Your poll doesn't allow for more than one possibility... As in there's no only Irish option, It's Dublin, outside of Dublin, or nothing... Nor is there an option for everybody... So i voted for Mars because it's the closest thing to "Date anyone"

I never really liked Dublin guys, and I am from Dublin myself.
From my own experience, I find Dublin lads very cocky with no real reason to be so.
They just don't seem to know how to treat a girl, they are of the 'like it or lump it' variety, it would seem that they are of the opinion that they aren't going to make an effort for you, cause there are plenty more where you came from.
Also, and just from my own experience, I find country boys to be, in general, taller, broader, healthier looking lads - and thats what I go for, physically.

In the mean time I tend to focus on foreign blood... I've never really been involved with an Irish female of any kind.

i'm sure i've said this to you before but that quote is much more often attributed to george bush and neither of them actually said it

    http://www.snopes.com/quotes/candidate.asp

The amount of quotes attributed to George Bush that he hasnt actually said, but are still believed by most people and used to back up the theory of him being a bit slow are unreal. Bush mightnt be the brightest, but neither are people who will believe every quote some guy on the net claims he said.

Anyway, Im off topic. Me, if she is good looking Id probably go with a bird from anywhere in the country or world. Saying that, alot of American accents really get on my tits, and Ive only ever known a handful of American girls (my mates ex and her friends) and bar one of them, who was bang on, they were all malignant kunts, as Paulie on the Sopranos once said. I think alot of Irish American girls in particular seem to be spas (they were all IA`s). Also, I cant see myself going with an Israeli girl, my political opinion on the Palestinian issue and Lebanon would get in the way no matter what she looked like (particularly after there be drink taken). But anywhere else in the world is grand by me if theyre nice looking.

As for Ireland, I would prefer Dublin, mainly because

a- Generally, Dublin women are better looking, dress better, keep themselves looking better etc

b- They have better music taste. Most Dublin girls know their dance music, know their hip hop. You read any culchie bebo page, its all Bell X1 this, Red Hot Chillis that, Coldplay, sorry but country folk have woeful middle of the road taste generally speaking

Saying that, girls from the west of Ireland seem disproportionately good looking. And Fermanagh, my mothers sides homeland, is packed with rides (when im up there visitin yil be lookin thru the pictures in the local paper with a horn that would poke your eye out. Theyre fine as fcuk!). Ive seen a few nice ones from Louth, but the accent fails them.

Forgetting about just meeting some bird in a bar - talking long time "going out with" material here:

I wouldnt go for any bird with an annoying thick accent (foreign, scottish, dublin, northerny, drogheda, cork) - I usually tend to hate most cork people and dublin people - dont really know why - alot of my friends are from dublin, and they're alright, but on the whole I tend to think of them as a shower of b@stards.

I wouldnt really go for a foreign bird (anywhere outside ireland) - some of them are incredible looking, but they're just on a different buzz to us - they have a different sense of humour and way of / outlook on life, and I find are quite hard to communicate with (even some from the english speaking countries). Fair play to any man thats willing to put up with this in a relationship (nomatter how good looking the woman).

Yes I am choosy, but luckily I already have a fine country lass.

"Well hello, do you post here often, oh yes, nice post count, yes, very big...drool...not from Dublin are you? No! Great, did I mention how cute your avatar is?..." :D

Enough silliness from me! To the point man! Me, I don't care where they are from so long as they don't have any ridiculous prejudices such as "Foreign/Dub only" or "ABD" (Anywhere but Dublin) I've gone out with Dublin women in the past and am marrying a Tipp woman next year. Had a bit of a 'thing' with a foreign woman many years ago but we don't talk about that any more :D

That the only Goatstown I know of.

I'll get back OT: There really isn't much point in dividing people up into Dubs, non-dubs and others. Specially since so many people in Dublin come from other counties.

I find city girls (Cork, Limerick, Belfast and Dub) usually put more effort into their appearance - clothes, make up etc whereas small town girls will have better craic. This my opinion.

Yes, its very true that Dublin girls put a lot of effort into clothes, grooming and general presentation, and it really pays off! That's all very well and good, yet I'd never date a Dublin lass, due to their personalities. There is a tendency to be arrogant, tempermental, petulant, and to be stuck rather far up their own arsé. Don't get me wrong, they're not all like that, far from it, I know loads of lovely Dublin women who couldn't be nicer. However, that tendency still definately exists, which is why my preference would be for a cournty woman. They're a bit more down to earth, and really know how to have a laugh.

You can add 'needy' to that list for the Dub Women ! They act independent but they are far from it, They are sooo bloody needy it wrecks your head.
Anyhoo, your probably better off not going for a Dub because they are all practically related now, as they rarely mingle with outsiders, and usually marry the guy from the next street. I mean this Dub inbreeding should be discouraged the same way it is with captive animals, in order to stop the spread of diseases and illnesses. Country people tend to travel more ( to find work )and generally and more laid back because of it, and despite the stereotypes, not as inbred as the city folk. :D

I do love the northern accent though. It hits a chord every time I hear a man with a sexy northern accent.

I wouldnt touch culchies. They smell of turf and archaelogical digs, cheap student bars and bellbottom flairs although they are definitely easier i guess thats why culchie guys seem to be able to score them easier than us dubs. Our sophistication and superiority doesnt really sit well with country girls.

    foreigners and dubs only please!

Foreigners mainly. The locals know my habits and are wary as a consequence. There's nothing better than the back of a windowless van, a Columbian chick, whips, cleaning products and a roll of gaffa tape....

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.
