    Hi all,
I've got to get a work reference and a landlord reference together for a new place.

But neither work nor my landlord have any idea what to write. So I've got to write and they've got to sign.

What should they entail? What are we talking about here?

    Cheers,
    Quad

The work reference just needs to confirm that you work there, how long you've worked there and that you are permanent (if you are). Basically they just want to be sure you aren't leaving the job next week.

The landlords reference should state how long you lived there, that you were a good tenant, there were no problems paying rent and you left the place in a good state of repair.
