I remember posting abiut this ages ago, but I can't find the thread

Anyhow, can anyone confirm that it's possible to use the e-mail app on a phone to access a gmail/yahoo eetc e-mail a/c?

Officially Meteor don't support this, but apparently if the settings are entered manually it may work?

    Any help appreciated...

Doesn't work. You can only access the predefined webmails as listed on the website.

    m.gmail.com doesn't work either unfortunately.

Failing that you can forward mails to 003538xxxxxxxx@mms.mymeteor.ie and it will forward mails to your phone via MMS. No good for attachments or pictures but fine for stuff like text emails and the like. I found it excellent on my N70. Less so on non-S60 phones.

    That's stupid.
I don't know why the networks don't offer this, seeing as most phones carry this application

I wonder why this doesn't work?
Do the networks delibrately deny access to it?

Read the thread I made, then you should be able to set up for gmail with pop3 settings.

remember, it doesnt work for everyone.

gmail dont do a header d/l only on their pop3 service, it's all or nothing which is a balls wehn you have to pay 2c/kb to d/l an entire message you may or may not want

it appears you can't get a secure connection using meteor wap on m.gmail.com, prolly nothing can be done untiil meteor offer ssl on everything
