import duty on US guns.

    I just wanted to make people aware of the fact that import duty will be applied to your guns when they arrive (if you buy from the US). Most people already knew that, but the main reason i posted is because i couldnt find out how much it is. I think i remember it being somehting along the lines of 5% - 8% of the total value, or maybe thats based on the total that is over a certain amount.
    And as far as i know, items with a value of less than €45, or items marked as a 'gift' are exempt from any import duty. So can we just get the sites we buy from to stick a big label on it saying 'gift', or else mark the package value on the label as €40 or something?

    Anyone able to clear this up? :confused:

    Chances are you'll be charged VAT @ 21% and customs @ 3.7% so 24.7% of the total incl shipping

    Just be aware that if the package goes astray somewhere in the supply chain, that's all it'll be insured for too.

    So if I order some guns from the US, im going to have to pay basically 1/4 again on top of the initial cost? Thats crazy, so a €300 package will cost me €75 in import/duty... Screw that!
    I think id honestly rather take my chances by marking its value as €40. Or better yet, mark it as a 'gift'. How can they prove its not a gift?

    I think I'm ordering the glock 18c AEP from m4airsoft. I e-mailed them and they are extremely helpful, and they're shipping is reasonable. I was told $35 (at most) for 4-10 delivery. Or you can pay $50-60 for 3-4 day delivery. I'll choose the cheaper! They also said they'd label it gift so that there's less chance of getting caught with customs.

    MP7 arrived today. No charges. It's the luck of the draw with customs people! :D

    The pistols on the site don't have a fps rating so how do u know how powerfull they are? :confused:

    I've noticed that too Shigsy on a few sites, that they dont mention the fps, can be quite annoying. Your best bet is to google that particular model, find another retailer and see what fps they have listed.

    Yeah, the best way i suppose. I can't seem to find a pistol i want.
    I would really like a metal pistol, electric (prefareably blowback) and around the 300fps mark. Most sites have a very limited selection of electric pistols, and its even harder to find one that is anywhere near 300fps.

    Electric blowbacks suck, get a GBB.
