DTT reception problem, iDTV

Hi, I was excited to hear that the DTT trials have finally started here as I bought a Samsung iDTV WS32W6DT way back in 2000 in anticipation of this event. The TV came with a built in Digital tuner and analogue tuner and it got great reviews in the magazines. I live on the coast in Bettystown, Co. Meath, too far away to pick up Freeview. As soon as I got back from holidays, I tried to tune in to Clermont Carn. Nothing.

The TV only offers an automatic scan function on the digital tuner. It comes up with headers such as Network Name, TS-ID, UHF and Sig. The very limited technical data in the TV manual says reception range is VHF:2-12 and UHF 21-69.

Reception is fine on analog TV tuner for all Irish channels. Samsung UK can offer no advice. Any ideas of how to get a signal or if its even possible on this TV?

A unit that old is not likely to support 8k FFTs. UK DTT uses 2k FFTs, Ireland uses 8k, so old UK-compatible kit is not Irish compatible.
