works just fine but the TV can take chunks out of BB if you get that as well.

theres no TV on this.. it's a business package.

ye its called magnet lite never heard of it being called a business package unless there actually is the same package on the business side of the site if there is one..

well the magnet lite package on the home personal side of site sounds good enough to me..im considering switching to that magnet lite package soon..its a 4mb down,512kb up as said and has something like a 100gb allowance a month..

and there is no tv either ..and free calls anytime..:D

They have a business pack which was originally owned by leap braodband who I have been with for 15 months now although on a 1MB (up & down) line 8:1 uncapped for €39 yo yo's. I have always found it very good + you don't really get any other users on your line after 6pm or weekends which is my primary usage time.

that would be an idea alright.... scanned letter is below, albeit with names & contact numbers taken out.

I like the bit at the end - your line will be inactive for 2 weeks while we sort out the transition.

Looks like a good package though!

yeah.. already had words with them about that. Apparently that 15 day waiting period can be shortened :D

eircom monopolisation + comreg / dcmnr incompetence at dealing with same.

High time the lot of them were taken out and shot at dawn, preferably tomorrow....

There is no real competition in the marketplace while this is allowed to continue, because nobody in business can afford to be without service for two weeks while these bastards play these sick paper shuffling games with each other.

It seems that despite all the lies from Comreg you cannot actually move your existing number across to Magnet, yet. Ifd you wish to do so check in with Comreg first, info@comreg.ie , and tell them that on day nn you will order GLUMP (the acronym) from Magnet and expect the number to port with it and no ****e .

BTW Smart have a 4mbit/512k package as well AND ITS CHEAPER , you get 6Mbits for the price of 4Mbits from Magnet .

BUSINESS Gold 5Mbps/512kbps Upstream €65 ex VAT

BUSINESS Bronze 3Mbps256kbps Upstream €45 ex VAT

Magnet is available in some exchanges where Smart are not (and vice versa no doubt), so the comparison is sometimes not valid.

I wonder if Magnet can achieve quicker activation because they use shared LLU?

Shared LLU should not involve a Number Change , thats right. Nor should it involve a 15 day outage as the phone bit _should_ remain connected to eircom at all times .....if you think about it.

I found the Magnet site was deadly unclear about all this as was their CS when I contacted them so I am really not sure they use shared LLU at all times and for all packages.

I've used their ADSL and SDSL products in a head office and branch office for over 2 months now. While provisioning might be slow I am getting the required bandwidth and have saved a few quid by switching fro Eircom leased line to SDSL

Personally I have never found contention to be an issue. I'm on a 24:1 contention product with Netsource and don't think I have ever got below the full speed if downloading from a fast server. Possibly it's the evening use on a "business" product, I don't know.
