    Hello,

Moved here from MCE 'ground zero' (USA) where everything worked 'out of the box'. Figured I'd need to replace my capture card with a PAL variant, done.

I'm a SkyDigital subscriber, have two boxes ready and rarin' to go. The issue is with the EPG.

For most channels, I have listings. But there are quite a few (and ones that we watch) that have "no data available" including Paramount, Hallmark, FX, etc.

Firstly, what gives? Secondly, is there a way to fill in the gaps?

I left MythTV a couple years ago because it was buggy as hell but this nonsense has me reconsidering...

oh, incidentally. I live in Ennis and originally thought I'd tell the setup that I live in Clare. It only picked up about 20 channels, so I chose Dublin and the complete list of Sky channels appeared. Both Clare and Dublin settings had the EPG "no data available" problem described above.

the problem lies with the EPG provider AFAIK. They havent given the information for the channels. There are a couple of stations like that on NTL digital cable too.

To get all of them, you may have to make a custom EPG usuing XMLTV. Personally I would stick it out with the missing info!

What was the last version of MythTV you tried.

Re: EPG, this was my suspicion. But I can't quite ascertain who is the provider, or how to highlight the missing entries. You'd think that this is simple as recognising "channel XYZ is the same on NTL, Chrous, SkyDigital (IE), SkyDigitial (UK), Telewest, etc". In other words, it doesn't seem that the channel is abstracted from the provider very well...

Any idea as to who the EPG provider is?

MythTV, it was 0.9 or something like this. Part of my gripe was with MythTV but most of the gripe was with Linux. I'm just spoiled because I do sysadmin stuff on AIX, HP-UX, and Solaris quite regularly, and a lot of maintenance tasks are made far too difficult in Linux, particularly when you start having to do kernel hacks to do things like, oh, get your wireless NIC working.

I get the missing EPG data for some channles as well under the Chorus EPG for MCE which is annoying as hell as Chorus's own EPG has the listings, nothing you can do as far as I know (in getting them to fix it).

Integrate Gypsy Media's Digiguide. Download from www.digiguide.co.uk Sub is about £12 a year. Extremely comprehensive and detailed. Can be integrated to nearly anything not already supported if you can do scripts etc.

    Windows.
