This will be interesting, The cape Verde islands have been famous for being the origin for the more serious hurricanes and tropical storms. It looks as though they are going to get one themselves.

If there is a mod out there that can change the thread title for me to Debby (Four)

    thanks.

There is a more potent threat to the carribean than Debby as a cluster of storms has organised and moving over the lesser antilles atm.Conditions are favourable as it moves over the 30c waters in the carribean later this week for it to organise better and to become a major storm.
This could well become the first potentially gulf of mexico bound hurricane of the season over the next few days.

Thanks for the title change snowbie

I agree 97LINVEST is worth keeping an eye on.

Debby is going to be a fish. forcast sends it northwest before going north and heading as a depression towards the Canaries.

Here is the latest on 97LIINVEST
SATELLITE IMAGES INDICATE THAT THE STRONG TROPICAL WAVE APPROACHING
THE WINDWARD ISLANDS REMAINS WELL-ORGANIZED AND HEAVY SQUALLS ARE
BEGINNING TO SPREAD OVER THESE ISLANDS. SINCE CONDITIONS APPEAR TO
BE FAVORABLE FOR A TROPICAL DEPRESSION OR A TROPICAL STORM TO FORM
LATER TODAY...INTERESTS IN THE WINDWARD ISLANDS AND THE
SOUTHEASTERN CARIBBEAN SEA SHOULD MONITOR THE PROGRESS OF THIS
SYSTEM. AN AIR FORCE RESERVE UNIT RECONNAISSANCE AIRCRAFT IS
SCHEDULED TO INVESTIGATE THE SYSTEM THIS AFTERNOON.

looks like we could have TD 5 by tonight.

Looks like an active peroid of tropical activity about to happen around the carribean etc.Could get a lot interesting in and around the gulf of mexico come Saturday/Sunday.This could well be a dangerous storm from early indications.
