A friend of mine repeated this year having missed his course because he failed irish.
This year he gets his points and then some but then his course went up by 90 points...he misses by ten... harsh eh?Anyone else miss out?

I know 2 lads. One failed French (higher). The other failed Chemistry.
The one who failed french thought he had to repeat but then he was offered a place in NUIG to do science. The other who failed chemistry and who subsequently had no science subject also got offered science in NUIG.
I wonder did they just accept them to keep the points at an acceptable level???

    I've another story!
My friend failed honours maths (got an E) but got 410 and thought he had to repeat too, but got his second choice in NUIM (Biotech.). Which is odd because they need maths supposidly. What even weirder is that his first choice has 2006 points of 375 (Genetics) but didn't get a place.

Some colleges count a E in Honours maths as meeting the maths requirement. A E in Hons or D in Pass Maths.
    :)

If thats the case why didn't he get a place in his first choice??? He has 410, the course says 375

Presumably it's not the case for that college then, but it is for the other I guess?

one of my friends there repeated cos he failed irish
and we were both going for the same course last year and this year, except i changed my mind and went for something else
but if i stuck with that choice i wouldnt of gotten it either cos it jumped by 100 points or something
i haven't been onto him to see did he get it though!
anyways, he should get some papers checked or it might hopefully come down in the second round
