players are pretty ABC type, so I'm playing lot looser than normal, experimenting at lower level, so to speak. Villain getting pretty fed up of my raising him, been heads up a few times and hes only ever called/raised previously with strong hands, hes starting to chase to get even (from last few hands played).

It was good because (IMO) he missed his flush. Would have you made this bet if a Diamond came on the river?

    Horrible results orientated advice.

I don't like this. He's betting like he has at least a bit of a hand all the way through and you keep firing at him. Also you give him great odds to call on the river because your raise isn't big enough.

His river bet makes me think that it's not a draw he has.

I think there was a better chance of him having second pair on the flop rather than a flush draw, he had previously bet bigger before with top pair so i'm thinking this re-raise would have been enough to put him off. Even though i'm playing LAGish i've only shown good hands so far. Thats me thinking, maybe the re-raise (even though it worked) wasnt enough like you say.

Well it's not really, if you look at how the whole hand played out, our Hero represented AA, KK QQ or AQ the whole way the only hand that could call was trips... A weak river lead is nearly always a bluff/ missed draw or blocking bet at these levels...

EDIT: Once our Hero doesn't do it too much, but he played the hand very aggressively and represented huge strength the whole way.

The post was - well it worked to it was a good bluff - which is results orientated whether the bluff was good or not

True True, I should have said the above in the first place, apologies to the OP,

Generally bluffs are hard to analyse without alot of background info.

Really busting my chops recently HJ... :D:D LOL

As a straight pot odds problem it's alot better if you just push the river. I like the idea though, good aggression. Keep in mind that if he's pissed at you he's gonna look you up with weak hands.

I'd only do this with a good read that he bets small with weak hands or draws.
