I'm thinking of buying a sniper airsoft gun. It's $70 and looks the biz. Only thing is, its 410 fps. Are there any chances of me getting this into the country, or is it totally illegal? If anyone could find me some other cheap snipers (with about 300 fps) I'd be delighted.

EDIT: Does anyone know if airsplat ships outside of America? If they do, can someone find the shipping charge to Ireland, I can't find shipping info on there site. Thanks.

You might be able to get it through somehow, but it is a firearm (as opposed to a toy, which lower fps's are), and so if you don't have a licence for it, you're breaking the law.

    Just pointing out the facts!

Airsplat dont ship outside the US, you could try email them and se if they make an exception. If you do get it and intend to skirmish if they chrony it and its over the 1J you mightn't be able to use it.

I found out the gun I'm looking at is just under the 1Joule of energy, so I'm OK. But, I can't find the gun for a good price (Well, I can but the shipping is ridiculous).

yeh some of these places seem to be fookin people over on the shipping costs!

Not much point in getting it if you cant use it in skirmishes! The VSR-10 by TM is pretty good:http://www.wolfarmouries.co.uk/airsoft/bb/product.asp?page=product&id=TMVSR10BK
And theres the cheaper Super 9:

i've read some horrible reviews about the Super 9. suposidly its quite inaccurate.
The UTG M3245 however has had so many posative reviews i couldnt help but buy one :D
from what i can see the only plastic part is the stock. most if not all the rest being metal.
one thing i found interesting about it is the fact that a simple fix on a leaky hop up system (covering it with tape) increases the fps quite a bit. so much so that it goes over the 1 joule limit.
it'll be very hard to resist doing this mod once it arrives!

All cheap guns are incredably inaccurate. You could have a 1400fps gun and it be inaccurate if its badly made or if the hop-up is crap. Also, why buy a gun you know you'll have to fix when it arrives?

what kind of range and accurcy have those rifles got.

its not a fix. its considered a modification. the gun works fine without it. the mod simply stops the air leaks in the hop up, and increases the fps to about 375. obviously though, this is over the 1 joule limit.

for a lower priced spring rifle, the accuracy is meant to be very good. obviously though i wont know till i try it myself.

here it is in action (excuse the knob end)

i'm not going to spend a fortune on a sniper, simply because of the joule limit. whats the point if you can only shoot as far as an AEG?

this is also a test rifle in a way. i want to see what happens with customs. then i'll start saving up for something expensive. something expensive and electric :D

Where did you order this from?
I'm interested in one of these too.
How much was shipping? Did you get a scope too?
Let me know when you get the rifle.

im currently having trouble making the payment to them through paypal. gr. hopefully it should be sorted and sent out soon. buying from www.speedytoys.com
it comes with a scope and a bipod. the scope and bipod pack is $130, just the gun is $99. the postage is $65. which seems steep, but ive looked around and i cant seem to get this rifle anywhere else. should cost about 150 euro once the conversion is made. if you want just the rifle, after postage its about €128.

    oh ****. import duty.
    ****!
    *cries*

Tell me i've just come back from France and with me i brought my first BB gun. Its this one http://airsoftuk.co.uk/product.php?productid=16417&cat=260&page=2. It cost me E25 and from what i can see its almost all metal. Can I make this "modification" to this gun.

well, some guns from what ive read have leaky hop up systems. you'd really have to look around online to see if anyone has any experience with the particular one you bought. i just know from what i read that the one i'll be getting does

I think thats a springer so you've pretty much just got to settle with what you paid for.

What do you think of the gun? Ive just been using it for target practice in the back garden. I am very interested in getting into this sport, but i have 3 major setbacks A im only 14, B i live in dublin and as far as i know there are no sites in dublin and C i have no money. Does anyone know where i could get a kit for less than E300, something that would include a gun, camo, mask/goggles,tactical vest and stuff like that and whatever else is needed? Any and all help greatly appreciated.

    Cheers liamo,
