    Hi there,

We got Eircom broadband with the Netopia router installed today, and I'm trying to get it working on my 360 with the Xbox Wireless Networking adaptor. Wireless networking is the one computer thing I have no experience with, and I'd appreciate it if someone would run me through setting it up?

    Many thanks in advance. :)

Sorry for joining your thread but ihave a netopia router and am thinking of buying a 360 and connecting it wirelessly and was wondering if the wireless connection effects online gameplay performance? Anyone tried this and found problems?

i have tried it with the wireless adaptor and a direct conection to the router and there is no noticable performance change .

Dazzington , i have an xbox 360 set up with a netopia wireless router and the 360 wireless adaptor .

i have the router set to give out a few ip numbers ( one for pc , laptop and 360 ). i changed the routers "ssid" and turned off ssid bradcast on the router ( for security ) and also set the routers firewall to low as the 360 won't connect to live otherwise .

then on the 360 i pluged the 360 adaptor in and the went to the settings / network settings / edit settings on the 360 dashboard .

i have the 360 network settings set to automatic and for the wireless part i entered the routers " ssid " and also the wep key i had set up on the router .

once it's all set up you will see at the bottom of the edit settings page a link light and signal strenght gadge .

I had a problem connecting to xbox live, but got it sorted once I played around a bit - I think there is a password you have to enter, my connection didn't work until I'd put in a username of eircom, and password of broadband1
