    Hi

I wonder if anyone can give advice on what software to used.

1st is needed to edit videos files like avi, mpeg, etc so I can delete couple of parts on it and after save it.

2nd as you know when you delete files or uninstall programs a trace of them is always left behind. I tried Disc Cleanup but was running for over 12 hours with not even a result.

    Thanks

For number one, if your not doing anything professional and you just want to tidy something up, Windows Movie Maker might cover you.

It's crap, but you don't have to fork out hundreds for a professional package

If you're running XP, just go to Add/Remove Windows Components in the Add/Remove Programs dialog in the control panel. AFAIK it should be there

if you just want to slice and dice, virtualdub is a good way to go. Its also free. The problem with windows movie maker is that you will loose quality after you recompress the video afetr editing.

Depending on the codec used, you can cut up and save the video in virtualdub, be sure to use "direct steam copy" for both audio and video.

Windows Movie maker will probably do the trick for you if its something simple.

CCleaner will help you remove the clutter of uninstall files and such.
