Back playing this year, first time in a few years.

So need to buy some boots. Now I picked up a pair of Mizuno boots on eBay quiet cheap but im not happy with them, so Im planning on spending a few squid more.

The problem is I am absolutely dismayed by one, the price of boots and two the standard. What ever happened to a leather boot with floppy tongue? Everything is plastic, multi coloured and way over the 100 eur mark.

I will in all probability end up going for a pair of Puma Kings or Addidas World Cup which are pricey enough too. Theres no in between. If I want a second pair I have to buy some plastic sh*te or spend another 100 eur.

Im in a similar position, havent played in the last 3 years, decided to fork out and see what the plastic boots are all about, got a pair of adidas f50 - never expected a pair of boots that came with an instruction manual, you can change the "chassis" and theres different studs for soft, firm and hard ground. Wore them for the first time yesterday and they were comfortable, no breaking in required, didnt notice much else difference, hopefully theyll be easier to clean in the winter.

Adidas Copa Mundial are proper leather. Nike had a proper leather pair out last year. You'll pay top whack for them but they are the real thing.

  • Puma King are excellent boots. Very Good quality material, and with proper care, will earn their price back.

I dont mind paying for a decent boot but there are so many awful boots out there that are commanding huge prices. Boots of a similar matertial to helmets!

Personally I would go for the Predators. Very comfortable.

    look on www.prodirectsoccer.com

    get some leather not PU.

Mundial have a very narrow fit, they dont fit everyone so be warned.

Agree about the comments re Puma King
Umbro Risponsa League is another, which I found to be a very comfortable leather boot (half-sizes too). I got them in moulded and screw-in versions, but not sure if they're still available. I bought mine about five years ago :D
