    Hey i am interested in pursuing writing as a career like journalism or sumthin when im older and was wondering anyone have any ideas where i cud do work experience?(apart from newspaper)

    Think newsletters, both print and electronic. Many social groups (church, charity, recreation, sports, etc.) try to sponsor them, but lack those with an interest to keep them going. You could move very quickly from a newsletter department (circulation, reporting, advertising, etc.) to an assistant editor post if you are motivated. Most are voluntary, but great for getting experience. Make sure to keep copies (hard and electronic) of back issues you have worked on, along with letters of recommendation from the editor.

    Also, if you have a flair for reporting or story writing, think free-lance. Go to the library and refer to a reference book, Writer's Digest, to locate free-lance opportunities. There are similar books in the same library section. Ask your librarian for assistance in finding them.
