What RAM to buy?

    Hello there,

    I am need of some ram but Im not sure what type I need and am a complete newb to RAM upgrades, Im looking for another 1gb of it (already have 1gb).

    My pc:

    Dell 5000
    3.0 Ghz
    1gb RAM

    Any help very much appreciated.

    Dell Dimension 5000? If so then you'll be able to put another 1gb in there. You are looking for PC2-4200 RAM, click here, link to Crucial.

    The crucial thing tells you wheather you have free slots.

    Only if you use the system scanner. If you select your system model from the drop down list it till just say how many slots and the max RAM and list suitable modules. Won't tell you how much u currently have etc.

    Just get Cpu Z and it will tell you have many slots are available and how many are in use in use on your motherboard.
