Sky Card Activation Charge

My son had Sky installed on Friday last on the basis of "phone pending".
Installer phoned Sky to check this was ok and had me confirm to them
phone would be connected in few weeks.
New house and all that comes with such, waiting for BT to connect in 2/3 weeks.
Anyway today I phoned Sky to activate his card. Guy tells me its difficult without a phone line but can be done for a £25 Stg. charge. Refund is possible when phone is connected.
Never heard of that one before, I myself have had Sky and now Sky+ for 7/8 years and never had phone connected.
Seems like another money making racket so I am going to go with "Big Paddys" previous post and activate it from my own phone/sky connection.
Anyone come acros this one before.????

Yes sound typical. Installs are subsidized on basis of phone connected. In past they were less fussed. Their goal is to get 50% of revenue from Interactive, which needs phone line.

Sounds right ot me. The charge here is €37.50 for a No PhoneLine installation.

I didn't know they refunded if you got a phoneline connected though.
