Google Toolbar + Firefox problems

I have being using Firefox and Google toolbar together for a year and on this install for nearly 6 months now. Recently since Firefox upgraded to Version 1.5.0.6 my Google Toolbar icons are going tiny and it is really annoying. You can see from the two attachments how they were previously and the current situation. I have tried everything I can think of but can't remedy it, I even re-installed the google toolbar but to no avail. I am using Win XP Home Edition SP2 and have a Dell Dimension 8400.

    Any suggestions would be great

    thanks.

    They're about the same size...

I don't see much of a difference but you can change the layout in Options->More->Layout Options.

Yeah they are all basically the same except for the new tab button and this is the thing that has annoyed me and the tool bar itself has got much skinnier and takes up much less room.

Basically the newer versions of the toolbar have had the padding removed around the icons which is what your noticing.

Is it probably possible to re-instate the padding by modifying the extension or possibly your userchrome.css but the exact instructions are beyond me however you should receive an answer in the extension forums on Mozillazine.
