If I have to repeat an exam which has 2 parts, can I find out which one I need to do or do I need to do both? I only failed by 4% so I know I passed one of them.

Yes, you can compenstate repeats, as with everything it depends on your course/lecturers/module/overall score/attendance/curcumstances.
