Don't worry about the terrorism, man. Quiet as a lamb in Yankee-land right now.

Where were you thinking of going?

You'll be fine, as long as you aren't an axe murderer or have a terrible criminal record you are more than welcome I'm sure. :) You could rent a car and go through a couple of states, lots to see.

As a man who has been through it, I assure you that axe murderers are more than welcome, as long as you have a machine-readable passport (and axe).

The weather is usually pretty decent in November in Philly. Like an Irish summer without the rain. Also a good place to base yourself to check out NY and DC.

Usually a good time of year to get cheap flights too, though they may not be running direct flights Ireland to Philly in November. Flying into Newark is pretty close, though.

www.gophila.com is a fairly good website for info about the area.
