    hey lads...a quick one

    as its time to upgrade the video card, i took a look on komplett and saw all the usual cards...but there are loads of cards based on the same chipset, say the GeForce 7600GT 256MB, but all put together by differant companies like Club3D, Gainward, Point of view, sappire and so on

    question is are they all the same at the end of the day, or are there brands to stay away from cause they use cheaper memory or the like???

    The cards all come from the same few factories and re-sold with various add-ons that vary between vendors for example;

    Some use something other than the stock cooler.
    Some add games/bundles into the mix.
    Some are bare bones to slash the price to the minimum.
    Some slightly over clock the cards out of the box.

    Cards that have been modified on the PCB level with different RAM chips or something else past the reference design aren't too common but they are still occasionally produced.

    As for a brand to avoid there really inst one to single out as like said the cards all come from the same factories.
