Nikon: Help wanted

I have decided to get the Nikon D200 (well my girlfriend is letting me use her plastic to get it as I am like a kid 2 weeks before Christmas and just can’t wait a few weeks:D )
I am ordering it from (www.ny-camera.com). As I’m new to digital photography I am still unsure about lenses, so I would really appreciate your views on the following to make sure they are compatible with the D200.

    Nikon D200 (body only) 1598euros
Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC Digital Nikon AF 298euros
Sigma EX 105mm F/2.8 Macro DG Nikon AF 377euros
    Nikon Nikkor AF 50mm F/1.8D 124euros
Sandisk 2GB Compactflash Card Extreme II 70euros

Total 2467 euros. I am only including the price as Conns are selling it with the AF-S 18-70mm lens (I think that’s the one) for 2240euros:eek: .
I have also noticed that if you where to buy the D200 kit with the Sigma 18-200mm lens it is 1919euros but if you buy them separate it’s only 1896euros:confused: .
Also thinking of getting an extra battery for it.

My recomendation would be to get the d200 with one lens, the NIKON 18-200 VR and see how you get on.

Althought he's a bit of a muppet, heres Kens review.

Also, the raw files out of a d200 average around 15meg each, meaning that you'll only have space for about 120 of them on a 2 gig card - not sure how that suits your needs, but I have 2x4 gig cards for mine.

I get about 400 shots out of a single battery, but tend not to use the LCD screen that much and nearly never use the pop up flash. If your the type that likes to review every shot and use flash, or do long days of shooting I'd say the battery would be a good investment.

Just bet me to it! They seem to have a bad, bad rep alright. I never used them and I don't think I ever will after reading all the bad reports over the years. Better off sticking with one of the retailers that are recommended above ^^

i used this crowd to get a 70 -200 and didn't have any probs!! however after hearing of the stories of other people i'm not too sure if i'd want to deal with them again.

I've also dealt with another German site - cam-ireland.com i got my camera from them it was COD so there was no risk for me sending any money or anything til i got the goods, also their shipping was very cheap.

Ffords are pretty dependable too, i've got stuff from them as well

    http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Kea-Photo

3 day FedEx to Ireland and no duty. Id trust him over any of the other sites around at the moment... with the exception of technikdirekt (but this guy is faster)

Yup, after a lot of looking I've settled on them for my Nikon D70s which I'll be ordering soon. Hmm, right now actually. Nice to see someone had a good experience with them.
