    It's quality!!!!!

One of the most enjoyable films I have seen in ages, lived up to the Hype

    Snakes were great

    Samuel L Jackson was superb

    Comedy fitted in well

It didn't try to be anything it wasn't

Just everyone go see this now!

I just got back from watching it on the big screen(17) in cineworld. I was surronded by around 300 rabid Sankes on a plane fans. It. Was. Unreal. I cannot do justice to how good it was so I am not going to even try. But I will say that the atmoshpere really made it so great. The crowd cheered loudly at every given oppertunity (especially during that Jackson speach, if he asked me to go to hell with him on that plane, I would have followed him). It isnt the type of movie you can watch at home on dvd. Go watch this in a packed cinema. NOW.

I was at that screening too, there was such a great atmosphere there. There was cheering when the censor's certificate came up and got crazy when he said the line!
Overall, it was everything I thought it would be. It was fantastically silly, violent and it had SLJ. I didn't stop giggling from start to finish, it was tremendous! Highly recommended viewing!

It is great fun to watch, I wouldn't mind going to see it again in the cinema. :)

To those who have seen it,
at the moment the lights go off on the plane, did anyone else notice an unidentified character shouting "SNAKES!!!"?
    :D

This poll should only have two options:

    1) Great movie.

    2) The greatest movie.

Can't wait to see it again :)

    Nice Colbert Report reference. ;)

PS: I wonder what special features they'll have on the SoaP DVD. I want a two disc extended edition, with extra snakes! :-p

Easily the best part of the movie. A few of us went to see it and we laughed for about 15 minutes.

    wow...

i love so much of the little things.

The opening title...SNAKES pause... ON A PLANE perfect for cheering.

I like all the little lines and images paraphrasing the title "Snakes in the cockpit, Snakes in a Purse..." and my favourtie..."SNAKES ON MY ASS!"

Though i must admit disapointment...i wanted to see Samual Jackson wrestle a python or something, that would have been cool.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 886 ✭✭✭randomchild

Yeah I wanted to see Samuel take on that really big snake at the end as a climax. Oh well guess we have to wait for "Mo' motherf***n' snakes on mo' motherf***n' planes"* for that....

It was one of my favourite parts but my #1 favourite had to be
the very end with Samuel L. Jackson and the witness (I've forgotten his name......) surfing. The lead up to that scene was so packed with cheese, what with everyone pairing off (naturally!). The final line was just perfect.
Witness: "Remember the first thing you ever said to me.......'Do as I say and you'll live'". *cut to scene of our two heroes surfin' their cares away*

What a film. One of the most enjoyable things I've seen in a long time.

Just got in from seeing it with the girlfriend.

She didn't much care for it but I loved every minute of it! It was great fun predicting where the snakes were gonna leap out from and so on and so forth!

The bit where the lights out: I laughed, people around me just thought I was weird!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 400 ✭✭nachos

Some of the best bits for me:

Snake jumping out of the sickbag
    "Great, snakes on crack"
    The snake being microwaved
Throwing the dog at the big anaconda and then the anaconda eating the man:D
    And of course that line

Yeah, that was one of the funniest bits for me - thought it was a woman though? My predicted ending involved Samuel surfing off on a sea of snakes - so I have to say, I wasn't very far off at all :)! Great fun movie. Turn brain off, enjoy. Hell, I even managed to start a round of applause which spread through the whole screen 17 in UGC last night...!

I absolutely love the cinema atmosphere, I was at the 19.30, screen 17 screening too [as were about 20 other nerds I know, coincidentally]. I loved the cheering and the mad laughter. And trying to guess when SLJ would say *that line*.

Though, I did scream at certain scary as fu*k parts! There has to be a sequel!

This film is sheer brilliance, Never have I seen a whole cinema clap when a characters says a line.

Interestingly, for all the Internet hype here and elsewhere, the movie has performed pretty poorly at the US Box Office. Seems that the general public didn't really know or care and that the Internet voice mightn't be quite as loud as people believe it to be.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,058 ✭✭✭Unearthly

bit of a shame really. I'm sure though it will eventually do well, or else it will turn into the ultimate cult film.

Bingo. The internet is a very, very insular place and what people on the internet often consider to be popular (Nintendo consoles is one example that springs to mind, or anime movies) - tend to be entirely overlooked by people who don't regularly use the internet.

The screening I was at was about half full - and that's the first time I've ever seen a big screen movie in UGC so empty at that time: normally they manage to fill any movie.

Went to a 5.30 showing Saturday in the states...only about 20 people there :-/

But there was already a line formed for the next showing at 7.30.

    Legend movie. eleventy thumbs up.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,057 ✭✭✭Wacker

Absolute class. Better than I thought it would be. Everyone in the screen (17 in the UGC) spoke along to THE LINE and cheered and clapped afterwards. I was convinced it would not be worth the hype, but it soooo was.

Caught an early showing in the States myself and also noted the lack of numbers in attendance. Still, positive word of mouth may cause this to gain some momentum in the following weeks. I know I enjoyed it as an entertaining popcorn romp with some very memorable scenes.

I put my money on it being a sleeper hit if its going to be a hit at all.

    Hahaha.... Snakes in a Cinema!
New Samuel L Jackson film Snakes On A Plane became terrifyingly real for Arizona cinema-goers when pranksters released two live rattlesnakes into the theatre, causing widespread panic. The two young venomous diamondback rattlers were released during a screening in Phoenix on Friday. Local news reports say the snakes caused chaos among the audience and snake wranglers were called in to collect them. No one was injured during the incident and the culprits have not been caught. Officials believe the snakes were smuggled into the theatre in backpacks. According to Phoenix Herpetological Society spokesman Daniel Marchand, "All they've got to do is startle this thing. It's dark. They can't see you that well. If it's scared - boom - it strikes!" The snakes were eventually captured and released into the Arizona desert.

Thats only in the US, I think its doing much better elsewhere around the world. Anyway it works better as a Cult movie that a runaway Blockbuster Smash Hit, just wait for the DVD sales --BOOM!!!!--
