Um, we're having some technical difficulties with this thread, in case anyone is wondering. Or, rather, I'm having some technical difficulties. Will be fixed in the coming days!

    http://www.studentfinance.ie/

^^ contains is now (finally!) an official website for all aspects of student finance in Ireland. It has information on the maintenance grant, tax relief on fees, course fees, and a whole other areas of grants. About time the HEA got their finger out. Huzzah!

I'll update the links below to reflect this.

    www.studential.com

    www.thestudentroom.com

I found these sites great on how to structure personal statements. And with thestudentroom you can submit your PS and a PS helper will give you advice on any changes that may need doing.

    Hi
This site is a good one to have a look at if you are wondering whats involved in different careers.http://www.CareersPortal.ie

It has an Occupation list where you can look up info on a wide variety of jobs. Whats useful from a CAO application pov is that it gives a list of core tasks associated with each job. You can use this to go through your own work or education history and see where your experience may be relevant and can be adapted for your Personal statement.

    CareersNews: http://careersnews.ie/

A pretty decent information site for a lot of career and educational information. Useful for 2nd level and adult students. They have a mailing list you can join and send a decent daily update with current info on education, jobs and careers info as well as related stuff.
