I'm in the market for a new laptop & have €1000 to spend, give or take. I'm looking for something with 1gb ram & 60+GB HD with a good graphics card & wi-fi conectivity.

I doubt i'll get one with this spec in the shops for this price but i've seen 1 or 2 intresting laptops on laptopsdirect.ie, anyong got any suggestions???

Personally I think that one's fantastis value. Make sure to add on the 3 year collect and return warranty thing for another €88

The processor is perfectly fine, unless you really will be running high end apps or very recent games....Laptop is solid for the price, but if you plan playing games that X1300, while capable of playing new games, is weak and cannot make use of 512mb of ram as advertised on the site...

Overall, for general day to day use it seems very good for the price.

have to get a new laptop because my lcd broke on my DELL so I've been looking at these two. there is only €50 difference in the price. Wondering which one is better...I'm looking for a light laptop and Dell's equivalent is too expensive.

If you know what you are looking for, there are some bargains in the Dell outlet store.
I got one today for €900 which when priced up through Dell came to €1300.
Well worth browsing to see what they have.

Hi, not sure if its too late for you, but take my word for it, dont buy from laptops direct. I am in the middle of a nightmare with them at the moment. I ordered from them last Mon and cancelled on Tue because they were charging me more than I had originally agreed to on the phone and also sending me less memory and a smaller hard drive then was advertised on the site. Their customer service is non existent and they will be nice when your ordering but once they have your money wont want to know you. Im still waiting on a refund for the full amount from them. They charged me €970 (I had agreed to €940 when I ordered on the phone) and today finally they have refunded me, but only €909. Their explanation is that this is due to the sterling conversion. I wasnt even aware I was paying for this in sterling, as the prices on the website are in euro and the price I was quoted on the phone was in euro. For goodness sake its an .ie website and an Irish number you call to order. Im so frustrated with them, and I would recommend you steer clear. Just do a search on google for laptops direct reviews and get reading. Im not the first person whos had problems like this with them.
