    I looked for another thread on this but could'nt spot one.

    The Sunday Time story linked below has truned out to be true, can this niche station hack it as a standalone and can it secure the kind of funding it'll need to continue to carve out a place in the market?

    Also the story mentioned a huge subvention are there any conditions attached to the cash so they invest in Irish language programmes rather than sinking a pile into US imports and sport?

    Yes, well I don't know.

    But this should have done 5 years ago, or even 10 years ago they should not have been part of RTE.

    I hope they propser and give us DIFFERENT programing from the 2000 channels of Reality TV and US junk

    I hope they do well - its a great station.

    I think that they have already started giving us good shows - both homemade and foreign. Sky were advertising Nip tuck last year - saying see it first on Sky etc etc - but they were weeks behind TG4!
