Ok, so i ordered some of the parts for my computer via overclockers.co.uk a few minutes ago, and i recieved a message saying there was a problem, and i needed to verify my identity. This is what they said...
In order to comply with credit and debit card regulations, we need to verify
your identity. To allow us process this and subsequent orders please post or fax
(details below) copies of 2 of the following documents.

1 - Bank statement showing address and within last 3 months.
2 - Credit card statement showing address and within last 3 months.
3 - Utlity bill showing address and within last 3 months .
    4 - Driving licence.

Please include your Order Reference Number and daytime telephone number in all
    communication.

When the documents have been received and approved you will receive an email
confirming your order is being processed. All subsequent orders will be
processed automatically without the need for further verification.

If we do not receive a response within 7 days we regret that your order will be
    cancelled.
Has anyone else had to do this? Is it cause the name and delivery address are different to the card name and address (My name, my brothers card)? Because they have the option to send it to a different address, so it seems kinda stupid to require people to do this.

Yeah a couple of companies use it for verification. Is this your first order? You shouldn't have to do it again after this time.

I have done it once with Overclockers; they replied very quickly saying it was verified. Didn't have to do it again. Just block out most of the numbers on the card.

Ah balls...so much for having my pc waiting for me when i get back from america on thursday (even though it would probably have been late anyway). Its just annoying, since i have to ask my brother to do this, as its his card i'm using...oh well :(

If you aren't comfortable doing it OP, then I'm sure you can find other stores elsewhere online that have what you want in stock that do not use this verification process.

My power supply died last weekend, and I ordered a new one from them on monday, I got the same email and because I knew they were not dodgy, I sent a copy of my CC bill (with the delivery address on it) and a copy of my driving licence (home address - Obviously), they replied back saying that because both address didnt match they would not process the order, even though they had processed my credit card and the money was taken off it. I rang them explaining that I have my credit card address at my place of work because it makes it easier for deliveries. They said tough luck, So I cancelled the order and I now have found out its gonna take 5 days to get the money back on my credit card, and I dont have enough to buy the power supply till then, Ive always used komplett for buying stuff for PC's and im sorry I ever strayed away, Steer well clear of overclockers.co.uk, they are a joke and have some of the worse customer care Ive ever dealt with, Ive put in a complaint with my credit card company and they are following it up for me.

I repeat, Stay clear of them.

    Sean.

I was ordering a GPU from them and got the same:

There seems to be some difference between the british and irish banks on background checks - and our details arent readliy availlable; so we automatically fail.

They use some special system to avoid credit card fraud.

My address came up as incorrect, while the address the one for my credit card is exactly the same as my mailing address, and thats the very one I gave.

I rang them 3 times to try to sort it out (ringing my bank+cr.card company in between), spoke to 2 different guys and they were total **** (one moreso than the other) + couldnt care less.

I ordered from pixmania.ie and got my card 2 days later.

well, i asked my brother to send in the information, and he said he'd do it today or monday. so hopefully they'll allow the order to go through, since its the only non-us site that has the HIS x1900xt, and has the case i want. i'll keep you informed
