    Why not?

Its tying in with the conclusions I made from reading the threads on the whole "bursting propery bubble and couples not being able to afford new itnerest rate increases" stuff.

I'd reckon the average salary in Ireland for the major working percentile is about €35,000.

It's a private poll. Suit yourself.

maybe if you put down reasons and present a case as to why you want this information, it might attract more repsonse

Salary alone is not informative. Age has a large bearing. A 45 year old person may be earning €60 and have bought a house for €70K in the early 90s. An interest rise of half-a-percent will go un-noticed to someone in those circumstances (and there are many).

The average boards reader may not be so fortunate however!

i think this thread a very good idea...

there is nothing wrong with polling percentages of what people are earning
might give some people a kick up the arse to get out of a comfort zone they are in if they see what the majority are making? or could make some people appreciate what they are getting..

I'd agree that it's a bit pointless without age profiles of the participants.
Although it's interesting all the same :D

It might be an idea to include those of use who are waged and not salaried. Would it not be more appropriate to exclude overtime, week-end premiums, shift allowances, night premiums, subsistance allowances etc. instead of car, gym, insurance, phone?
Many waged workers earn considerably more than their basic. I generally earn in excess of twice my basic so it would be misleading to post it.
