Removing the jumper... Seagate Barracuda

    Got the 320gig version of this and says you have to remove a jumper from the back to get it to perform at the 3gig/sec performance as advertised. Could someone point out what needs to be removed for me?ShowImage.asp?iditem=62282&FL=1&IMG=FP949

    See if this helps, I assume your motherboard includes support for SATA 3.0 Gb/s.

    Just remember that the jumper is for compatibilty, not peformance. The drive itself will max out at 80MB/s tops. Its only the interface that supports 300MB/s

    Long story short, unless you are using two in RAID 0, you wont see a peformance benefit.
