Thats why i was looking for the ASUS one in particular and €300 is a bit steep for the card when it sells for $250 on US shops.

I was wondering if I ordered it from the states would i have to pay customs?

Technically ye, and you probably will have to, but it's generally luck of the draw when it comes to customs and depends on the carrier

    So,
If a certain person wanted a certain part to be shipped here without a certain customs charge who would be the best carrier and who would be the best website to get the said part from?

why bother..quite frankly it's a waste of money..it's not going to incease your framerates by much and in some cases the fps will actually drop...
there's a good article on it at tom's hardware..will try and dig it out..for the moment you're better off spending the money on a better video card

it's not the original article but worth reading..ati and nvidia are working on alternatives..ATI's upcoming RD600 chipset supports crossfire + physics using any ati graphics card..basically the physx card is just a graphics card at the end of the end..and the ati/nvidia alternatives will be only about half the price..

theres not a huge hype around it atm, but neither were the gfx cards at the start. Like most things time will tell, the software is catching up with the hardware. No point imo but then if you really want one get one.

I think you're wasting your cash, UT2007 has been pushed back into the first half of 2007 according to it's publisher. Plus nobody knows the extent of it's support for PhysX but by the time it shows up there could be a second generation PhysX card that address the flaws in the first gen card & maybe even cheaper.

That's assuming it all takes off I still have serious doubts physics will ever make that huge an impact & drive demand for those cards, compared with the advent of 3D acceleration the difference was profound and something you could see vs the software renders.

I don't know how it'll ever become very popular, so there'll probably never be great support for them. Probably will go the way of the Voodoo - try finding anything made after about 1999 with Glide support ;)

Don't see much demand for physics card for that game tbh. Just looks like a bigger version of Red Alert.

heh, instead of vehicles exploding into 4 lumps they explode into 12 with a Physx card! WOW!:D

But seriously, Physx cards are crap at present, and I think the ATI or Nvidia/havok physics acceleration solutions will win...

You can play CellFactor without a PhysX card, the whole thing is a big bullshít scam. If you don't have a PhysX card all you lose is moving cloth and pouring liquids. It's otherwise identical.

And Custom PC tested Cell factor with a test rig with a FX-60, and it played it no bother and actually had a higher minimum framerate than the test rig with the Physx card...

They even called the article "Physx Fraud":D

What was the graphics card on this pc?

And i just like having the graphics ALL the way up so the game looks better thats the main reason im buying this.

but it's only limited to whether the game developer supports it..
there are rumours that dx10 will support physics in a small way thus relieving the need for such a card..
for instance you run oblivion at all the highest settings..what will the physx card do? nothing because oblivion doesn't support it as well as thousands of other games..also you have the competitor Havok who also have their own version of the card.

    decisions decisions :D

I see Wandy from PCZone is saying that there is probably no need for Physx cards at all , he reckons that DX10 cards will have that covered as much as there is need for it .
