    Horse and Hose

Excuse the ignorance but wtf is Horse and Hose?

afaik, a horse is a rather large animal, with a 4 legs and a hairy mane. These "horse" creatures can run rather fast, jump quite high, and are quite partial to a good ride in the morning.

A "hose" is a long rubber like item, often used for dispensing water or other liquids.

In the recent WSOP, a lot of pros played for a $50,000 horse, so im sure he was a fast one.
I really cant see the point in playing for a hose at all though.

And when you put them together? Some kind of equine enema?

A hose is like a horse but it doesnt have any razz in it. Seemingly its the razz that makes the horse go really really fast which is why they were willing to buy in for so much.

This is not going well for me so far! The players at 5/10 mostly seem to know what they're doing which stands in stark contrast to the individual games at that level!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,632 ✭✭✭✭okidoki987

Played a 1/2 table last night, interesting game but noticed a lot of players sat out the games they didn't like to play i.e.
Razz only had 5/8 players playing.
    Won $100 though :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,337 ✭✭✭Bandana boy

played 10 $20 Heads up Horse games on FT on Friday
won 8 before we got to razz lost the 2 that did
So still havent figured what i am trying to do when we get to Razz but found the standard at HE appaling bad and Hi lo not much better

Razz doesn't seem that hard to play - its just when you have a perfect starting hand like A23 followed by a 4 its seems that your next 3 cards will pair your existing cards or will all be Ks and you lose to some guy with J 10 9 8 7 - but I can see why people hate the game and it can make you feel miserable. Seems like a lot of luck involved but maybe thats my ignorance showing. Any sites have pure Razz games?

I like Razz, something wholley differant from holdem and makes you think about differant things, I think it's fun to say although I mean every now and again, day in and day out I would imagine it would start to grate at you.

I have played just enough to understand what the game is and that i have no idea what the best strategys would be to win consistently and that against reg Razz players i tend to get destroyed in double quick time

The more you play it, the sicker it gets.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,537 ✭✭✭Ste05

RAZZ is the most frustrating game ever!! I've also noticed that when the game gets to RAZZ there's only 3 or 4 players sitting in...

Play all the games or don't play HORSE FFS!!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,666 ✭✭✭Imposter

I haven't noticed people sitting out much at 5/10.

Razz seems to be pretty well played as are all the stud variants. Omaha seems to me to be the game where money can be made. The holdem play is also not great.

One thing that I think is great for this game for now is that PT doesn't seem ot work for it yet (That is true isn't it? I tried opening PTStud and it couldn't find any hands).
