Hi. I'm heading to Albufeira next month and I'm wondering does anyone have any info on the place? Really, I'm just trying to budget for nights out and that so if anyone knows what the average price of a drink / nightclub entry is... I read that they mark your drinks on a card and you pay on the way out. Sounds like it could get expensive... What are the best pubs / nightclubs? Eating out / Taxis? All in all how much would you need for a good week away?

Hi SB, myself and my gf stayed in a place called the Oceanus Aparthotel the year before last in Albufeira. Would highly recommend the place and we found the prices in Albufeira excellent, 1.50 for glass of wine or pint of their local lager which is nice (can't remember the name of it!).

One meal we had in the village we stayed in called D'otho's Agua, the restraunt was called Blues and they do the best fillet steaks in the town. We got two 4 course meals and 2 bottles of white wine for 50 Euro. This is typical of the value for money you would find there.

Another thing, you can't flag a taxi over there like you can over here, you have to go to a taxi rank and they will try to fleece you if they can. There is a beautiful restraunt on the top floor of the Montechoro hotel if you can squeeze it in...
