well the image is looking down on an apple thats cut in half ,on the right is the reflection of underneath.
I just got the glass earlier ,so I haven't sussed exactly what way I want to use it ,didn't think anyone had taken any shots using sheets of glass.

Ah right, nice idea. What aperature did you shoot it at? I'd have brought the bottom half more into focus to make the idea behind the shot more apparent.

thanks rymus ,what I did was lay a piece of mirror on the floor ,then had a piece of glass about 1 foot above it ,took the shot with a 70-200 at about 70 at F4
I have a shot like what your saying ,but because the glass is so close to the mirror theres a reflection in the glass on the mirror.I'm sure I'll get the hang of it as time goes by .

    Cheers
    Brian.

Do you have a reason for using a mirror ? A similar effect could be achieved by using the other half of the apple on the 'floor' under the glass, rather than having the underside of the apple on the glass reflected. Just wondering if the fact that it's a reflection is artistically important to your idea.

Oh ... almost forgot, nice idea. I agree with that rymus that the reflection is just a tad too out of focus.

see thats what I originally thought it was, then at F4 I was wondering why the lower half was so OOF.

The reason i add the mirror ,I actually have another sheet of glass and I will be putting liquids on this etc .
If I put milk or something on the top layer and a fruit on the next then I can choose to focus on any one of the levels and have a number of objects either under or over objects. Say a grape on the second one under the milk ,you look at the image ,you see a pool of milk and you also see a reflection of something underneath it aswell.
This is all in my head at the moment ,still have to put it into practice.
Could turn into a flop ,but anything new is worth a go.

    Cheers
    Brian.
